Dr. Schwartz received her PhD in psychology 2003 from The Pennsylvania State University, under the mentorship of Dr. Judith Kroll. She joined the faculty in the department of Psychology at UTEP in Fall of 2004. Her research interests span topics of bilingualism, reading comprehension, reading development, reading strategies and educational/teaching implications of basic cognitive science.
Dr. Schwartz loves teaching, and it doesn't get any better than at UTEP! She teaches General Experimental Methods in Psychology, Learning & Memory, Cognitive Psychology, Language & Cognition, and courses on educational and instructional practices.
When she's not working she is typically on her bike training or racing- she has an uncanny passion for bike racing, that she will probably never outgrow.
